Repeat Prescriptions-

From the 21st of November repeat prescription processing is now completed by the NHS Wiltshire POD Service, please order your repeat prescriptions at least 7 days before you need them.

It will then take time for the pharmacy to prepare your medication and this may vary depending on the pharmacy you use – you will need to ask them for the details.

If you are overdue a medication review, or to attend for a chronic disease review or to have any necessary tests carried out, your request may need to be authorised by your GP before the prescription can be issued. This may cause a delay to the process, this will depend on the individual patient. Please try to ensure that you are up to date with your medication reviews and your chronic disease reviews by booking your appointments at the appropriate time, as this will prevent a delay in your prescription being issued.

The surgery cannot deal with requests over the telephone, through the post.

Please be aware that we cannot offer an on the day prescription service. If you need routine repeat medication please allow the appropriate time for your request to be processed. However if you need some medication urgently due to unforeseen circumstances please ask at reception and we will endeavour to help you with your request.

If you, or someone you care for, use the same medicines regularly, you may be able to benefit from repeat dispensing from the pharmacist. This means you won't have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor or practice nurse every time you need more medicine. If you are interested in this scheme, ask your GP or the practice nurse next time you visit the surgery, or pick up a leaflet at reception
