Duty Doctor: Each day a doctor takes on the role of duty doctor is to cover any emergency telephone or face to face consultations. The duty doctor also does emergency visits during surgery hours.
Nurse Practitioner:In order to cope with increasing demand the practice has changed the emergency appointment system. One of the changes to the system includes using nurse practitioners to see patients with minor illnesses.
Nurse practitioners are nurses who have undertaken a further two years studying at degree level on top of their nurse training. During the extended nurse training they have learned how to, and taken exams in, medical examinations as well as history taking, health promotion, research, pharmacology and pathophysiology (put simply, how the body reacts to illness and disease process).
Nurse practitioners are not employed to replace doctors but to complement the service they offer, releasing them to focus on patients with more complex needs.
Practice Nurses:The surgery has a team of highly trained and experienced practice nurses who can help and give advice on a number of problems.

Most blood and urine tests take about five working days for the results to come through.
You will be contacted if the doctor wishes to discuss the result.
To check the results please telephone 896630 option 5 between 2pm and 4pm only Monday to Friday.
We aim to ensure staff are aware of the needs of our disabled patients. The practice booklet is available in Braille and large print and we have hearing loops installed at our reception. All areas of the practice are accessible by wheelchair and there are disabled toilets in the front lobby and on the landing on the first floor. The surgery has a wheelchair for use of patients in the surgery.
Pushchairs can be left in the front lobby that is covered by CCTV however the surgery takes no responsibility for property left in the surgery. There are baby-changing facilities in the disabled toilet.
